The Difference Between Fixing and Creating
You can spend an entire year improving your practice and still end up with almost the exact same practice.
You fix scheduling problems, improve systems, handle team issues, and put out fires. Yet you're still working the same hours, carrying the same responsibilities, and dealing with the same frustrations. That's because fixing what's wrong isn't the same as building what you want.
Most owners get so caught up solving problems that they never make time to create something better. Here's how to change that:
-
Define what you actually want.
Fewer clinical days? More profit? A stronger leadership team? You can't build something you haven't defined. -
Figure out what needs to exist.
Instead of constantly filling schedule holes, build a better scheduling system. Instead of handling every team issue, develop leaders who can. -
Protect time to create.
Problems will always demand your attention. Building something better won't. Set aside CEO time to make it happen.
The next time you work on your practice, ask yourself: Am I fixing something, or am I creating something? Both matter, but only one builds the practice you actually want.
P.S. If you're tired of constantly solving problems and want a practice that's easier to own, book a strategy call with me. We'll figure out what needs to change to get you there.
