Stop Waiting to Feel Ready
You may already be ready for the change you keep telling yourself you’ll make “someday.”
Maybe it’s cutting back a clinical day, hiring an associate, taking more time off, or giving your leadership team more responsibility. You keep waiting for the practice to feel a little more stable, the team to get a little stronger, or the numbers to look a little better. But every time you clear one hurdle, another reason to wait seems to appear.
Instead of waiting until you feel ready:
- Put a date on it
“Sometime this year” lets you keep waiting. A specific date forces you to start figuring out how to make it happen. - Work backward
Ask what actually needs to be true by then: better systems, higher production per hour, more delegation, stronger leadership. Now you have a plan instead of a wish. - Expect a few problems
You will not anticipate everything. Something will come up, and you’ll solve it. Confidence comes from handling problems, not eliminating every possible one first.
There can also be a cost to waiting. Cutting a clinical day may look like lost production, but having no time to work on the business has a cost too. You do not need to feel completely ready. Pick the date, build the plan, and let the confidence come from doing it.
P.S. If you know what you want your practice to look like but you’re struggling to figure out how to get there, book a strategy call with me. We’ll look at what needs to change and help you build a plan to make it happen.
If there’s a change you’ve been putting off, this episode will help you turn “someday” into a real plan:
