Wealth Is Freedom, Not Income
You ever notice how you can hit every financial milestone you once dreamed about and still not feel wealthy? The production is there. The income is there. The house, the vacations, the bank balance. And yet one bad month, one big case that falls through, or one team member quitting can make it all feel fragile.
Here is the stat that got me: Only 32% of millionaires consider themselves wealthy. Even with seven figures in the bank, most do not feel secure. So if they do not feel rich, what chance do we have as dentists?
Most owners are doing great on paper. The problem is their experience does not match the numbers. In this episode, I break down the real fix:
-
Wealth is freedom, not income. Can your practice run and make money without you there every second?
-
What feels like financial stress is usually broken systems. Unpredictable schedules, cancellations, lack of accountability. Fix those and the anxiety drops.
-
Have a clear savings and investment plan. Uncertainty creates pressure, not your actual income.
-
Stop comparing. The only thing you know about someone else’s lifestyle is that they can afford the payment.
The biggest shift for me was trading income goals for freedom goals. I did not feel wealthy when the wire hit or when I bought the house. I felt wealthy when the practice ran and my time stopped being held hostage. If you have ever thought, “I should feel better than this by now,” listen to this episode.
If this episode brought up something specific you are dealing with in your practice, you do not have to work through it alone. You can book a one-on-one strategy call with a DPH coach to talk through your team, systems, or leadership challenges and get clear on next steps.
