The Power of Perspective
The stories you repeat shape the results you expect.
Most practice owners have a running story in their head about their team, their patients, their schedule, or what is possible in the practice. The problem is that the more you repeat a story, the more it starts to feel like a fact. Sometimes the first step toward better results is simply questioning the story you have been accepting as true.
Start here:
• Question your first assumption.
When something goes wrong, pause before accepting your first thought as the truth. Ask yourself, “What else could be true?”
• Pay attention to the stories you repeat most often.
The thoughts you revisit every day influence the decisions you make. If you focus only on limitations, you will stop looking for possibilities.
• Choose one belief to challenge this week.
Instead of saying, “That is just how my practice is,” ask, “What if that isn't true?” A new perspective can lead to a different outcome.
The stories you tell yourself influence how you lead, communicate, and make decisions. Becoming aware of them is often the first step toward changing the results they create.
This conversation takes that idea a step further:
